A trip to Atithi, Cambridge
- posted in: Blog

We were delighted to be invited to visit the recently opened restaurant Atithi.
The Setting
Atithi launched on the 1st February on the busy and very popular Mill Road offering a range of Indian cuisine by award-winning Michelin star background head chef Kamaladasan. The Head chef has had a wonderful foodie career in the industry working and the Taj Hotel Group in India, and then to London where he spent 8 years in renowned Indian Michelin Star Restaurant in Mayfair, London.
The Style
The style is one of simple and elegance, with boothed seating in the main restaurant and a cozy function area with stunning wall art to the rear of the property. To complement the sophisticated dining experience the staff were very smartly attired and very attentive and helpful throughout the evening.
The Food
The evening started with an incredible Pappdie Chaat, Spiced chickpeas, wheat crisps, sweetened yogurt and tamarind chutney. Followed by an equally incredible stuffed paneer that was well balanced in flavour and texture. The main courses were wonderful to share with the table, two of the dishes that really stood out were the Baigan Bartha, smoked aubergines and the Awadhi Chicken Dum Biriyani, served with a pastry lid. And to round our dining experience off we were served a delicious Gara Ka Halwa, Heritage carrot fudge.
The food was enjoyed by all, it was a wonderful meal to share amongst the fellow bloggers, photographers and local businesses. We had previously met a couple of people at the table, but one of the joys of being served lots of delicious dishes means you all get chatting, sharing.
