How we mixed things up in May

Mixology Group - Cocktail making Masterclass

Well, a fun night of cocktails, snacks and networking was enjoyed by all last week. We were delighted to have partnered with Speciality & Fine Food Fair and the team at the Mixology group who created three incredible cocktails showcasing various ingredients from an array of delicious drinks producers.

The evening gave us the opportunity to learn more about cocktail making (some more successfully than others) we now know that fizzy drinks must not be added to the shaker! All this whilst networking and enjoying a delicious array of snacks.

Myles from Mixology Group created three cocktails in true Tom Cruise style, they were:

Spicy Switchel

Citrus Switchel

Root Switchel

The cocktails showcased ingredients from Tonic enhancer drops from Butler & Brewer, Craft Shots from SPRY Craft Shots, Lemon & Yuzu and Ginger & Chipotle soft drinks from Gusto Organic, vodka from Nero Vodka, gin from Chase Distillery, vinegar shots from Willy’s ACV Ltd,  and lemons from Kale & Damson.

The snacks offered something for everyone they included: Pork scratchings from Snaffling Pig,  nuts from Forest Feast, coated pumpkin seeds from Nutrilicious, poppadoms from Family Secret, vegan chocolate from HiP Chocolate, snack bars from Organic Food Bar. We also had products for the following day such as coffee from Noble House Prepared, honey from Bees With Stories, and a delicious trio of herbal teas from Theenk Tea.

During the breakout rooms we enjoy interesting conversations, including discussions on British Charcuterie, methods for gin making, vegan butchers, the impact of covid in the hospitality industry, judging of the virtual cheese awards, products in the box and returning to live events.
