Indian for Everyone by Hari Ghotra

From snacks, soups, curries and condiments to sweet treats, the latest cookbook from Hari Ghotri – the former chef at Michelin-starred Tamarind whose top-selling supermarket cookery kits made her a household name – contains more than 100 recipes aimed at “even the most casual of cooks”.

Celebrating traditional spices for both their flavour and reported health benefits, from lowering blood pressure to salving pain, Indian for Everyone spans cast-iron classics (Lamb Balti, Bhuna Gosht) through to funky fusions (Pepperoni Naanza, a take on pizza, and Dhal & Aubergine Moussaka, pictured).

* Out November 8 in hardback, published by Fair Winds Press and priced £18.99

Olive Grove, Bury St Edmunds

Olive Grove, Bury St Edmunds

Bringing their signature fresh Greek food “with a little bit of a twist” to town, the founders of Cambridge’s award-winning Olive Grove have opened a sister restaurant in Bury St Edmunds. Francesca Behjat and husband George Kontakos, both of Greek heritage, cut the ribbon on the St John’s Street site at the end of September.
