We Talked Cheese

We had a wonderful evening at No 42 the London HQ for the Guild of Fine Food, with the focus very much on cheese.

For our London event we wanted to create a special evening that ensured everyone learnt something and also gave producers an opportunity to showcase their products as part of the meal. It was wonderful to see attendees travel from all over the country to attend the event, down from Yorkshire, up from Devon people really did travel far and wide to join us.

It was great start to the event as on arrival everyone enjoyed a G&T from Two Birds, many drinks made with the Nix and Kix range offering some wonderful new drinks combinations and nibbles from Simply Seedz and Brindisa. Thank you to all who took part in the Brindisa market research questionnaire on olives.

It was great to see our event helping a business make choices, gain valuable insight and grow. Then we then moved on to share a wonderful insight into the world of charcutier with Dhruv Baker, who explained how he started Tempus foods and the ethos and values the brand has too great it’s award-winning range of British Charcutier.

Next part of the evening was the Cheese Masterclass with Jilly and Pat, this was a wonderful education about cheese and pairing with different drinks. So many wonderful conversations were had over the cheese boards. It was great to enable Loxley cider and Vine and Cork to pair their wines and cider with the cheeses.

It was wonderful to share in Jilly and pat’s knowledge they are so knowledgeable on the topic of cheese. Then came to the food, we enjoyed delicious boards of charcutier from Tempus foods, bread from Ben and Ellas Bakery, biscuits from Peters Yard, this was accompanied by chutneys and sauces from Vivia Crumps, Otter Vale products and Asado.

It was then Gerry’s time to chat from WBC about how to make the most of display and to do it well, and how great display sells the products for you.

We then enjoyed a delicious array of fresh fruits and berries from Kale and Damson and Berry Gardens. This was a feast of summer fruit with Strawberries, raspberries and the biggest and most delicious blackberries we have ever tasted. These were joined by an array of chocolate coated nuts and fruits from Chocca Mocca and a wonderful cup of coffee from Source Climate Change Coffee.

Not forgetting that everyone left with a goodie bag of delights from the event thanks to WBC for the bags.

We have been overwhelmed with the comments that we have received it was such a lovely evening celebrating food and connecting lots of foodies. We really feel like we have created a tribe and can’t wait to share more events to make more wonderful things happen in the food industry.
