A Wonderful night of Networking at Fabulous Fitzbillies
- posted in: Blog

Our first event of the year was set in the iconic, Fitzbillies on Trumpington Street in Cambridge. We knew we were in for a delicious evening as the chef, Jamie and his team had created a delicious menu incorporating Farrington’s Mellow Yellow rapeseed oil.
The evening started with a welcome drink from Suffolk Distillery who shared their Suffolk Mandarin and Cranberry Gin, Suffolk Dry Gin, and Suffolk Vodka. These proved very popular and it was lovely to welcome this relatively new distillery (started in August 2017) to share their delicious gins. Thank you, Gary, for keeping everyone’s gin levels topped up.
Accompanying the welcome drinks were a selection of cheeses from The Curious Cheese Company which were a delicious accompaniment to the welcome drink.
The food was intertwined with two guest speakers the first being Victor Sacks from VS Associates who shared a great wealth of advice and tips on business finance and pensions. He delivered his advice and information in a great and humorous way. Who says accountants are boring!
Then after we had enjoyed our delicious main course of braised beef or roasted cauliflower, Duncan Farrington shared the story of how Mellow Yellow came to be. We then enjoyed a new delicious dressing which is yet to come to market.
It was a great opportunity for Duncan and Emily to gain feedback both on the product and on the label for the bottle. The product was a huge hit and we can’t wait for the product to be available to purchase, it will be definitely on the menu for our team this summer.
The evening was topped off with a delicious selection of Fitzbillies finest macarons and pastries which were a huge hit with everyone, congratulations to anyone who managed to eat less than two!
It was a great evening with many new connections made, advice given and shared and business done. It was lovely to see so many new faces and we look forward to doing it all over again on the 22nd of May at Stem & Glory, don’t forget to save the date.
